International Excellence in Masonry Competition
The Mason Contractors Association of America will once again host the International Excellence in Masonry Competition. Its purpose is to give recognition, on an international scale, to mason contractors, architects and engineers for outstanding accomplishments in masonry design and construction. Again, this year, entries will be judged through an independent panel of judges including architects and contractors. All judging will be completed before the official opening of MASONRY EXPO and all entries will be displayed at the MCAA Headquarter Hotel, the Marriott City Center.
MASONRY EXPO Golf Classic
The Scottish flavor of Charlotte Golf Links has made it a favorite of golfers looking for a different challenge. The par 71 course features an open, links-style design with 419 bermuda fairways and generous bentgrass greens. The innovative Yardmark system provides accurate yardage from a satellite-fed readout in each cart.
MCAA PAC Reception
The MCAA PAC continues to work on Capitol Hill to protect the future of the masonry industry. Join other members in MCAA's effort to support federal political candidates who share this industry's views on these and other concerns that directly affect your business. (personal contribution $125.00 per person)
Prize Drawings
The prize drawing program, in its third year and growing in excitement with each year, will take place each day of the show adding vitality to the show floor and giving every MASONRY EXPO attendee a chance to be a winner. Contributing exhibitors will offer daily prizes. Attendees will receive prize tickets to deposit in booths they visit, and winning tickets will be drawn from participating exhibitor booths during the show.
Billy Riggs
MCAA Opening Session Breakfast
Relevant, insightful, and life-changing. Those words describe the motivational message of Billy Riggs. Bill has been speaking publicly for the last 20 years and has since delivered his message to more than two million people on five continents. After receiving his two master's degrees, he founded and pastored one of America's fastest-growing churches, which grew from 0-2,000 in attendance in just three years. Bill is also a world-class illusionist, who has performed his spectacular illusions on eight cruise ships and before audiences as large as 20,000. He currently travels fulltime speaking to businesses and associations about life's most crippling illusions. He is the author of "The Twelve Immutable Laws of Humor," as well as nearly fifty different audio cassette albums.
Jim Morris
MASONRY EXPO Keynote Speaker Luncheon
Jim Morris, Political impressionist/satirist will be the featured speaker for the MASONRY EXPO Luncheon Friday, February 20, which will be the official "kick-off for Expo exhibits. The rubber-faced Morris has become famous as a living political cartoon. Morris captures all the attitude, optimism and befuddled essence of our nation's leaders. With the political intensity of the new administration, we can look forward to a continuation of his astute slings and arrows that have punctured the presentational styling of our nation's prominent leaders. In addition to Jim Morris, Governor George W. Bush, Jr. has been invited to speak during the featured speaker luncheon.
