MEMBERS OF THE MASONRY INSTITUTE OF IOWA JOIN THE READERSHIP OF MASONRY

Last month, MASONRY Magazine had the pleasure of welcoming the members of the Masonry Institute of Iowa, along with King's Material, Inc. of Cedar Rapids, IA and Ideal Concrete of West Burlington, IA to our readership, after many years of subscribing to Masonry Construction Magazine. We know that they didn't come to this decision lightly after sending a competitive magazine to their members for years. We applaud their decision, based on the merits of which magazine offered the greatest benefits to the masonry industry in Iowa.

Not only are we excited due to the fact that this recent addition boosted our ciculation by over 1,600 subscribers representing mason contractors, architects, design engineers and key industry employees of the masonry industry, but also because, by subscribing to THE one national, monthly publication that supports the future of the masonry industry, they're helping us to build and strengthen the industry even further.

MASONRY Magazine has grown in stature and effectiveness as a prime source of information for the industry's professionals. We have been diligent in providing increasingly more useful information to our readership and to you, the mason contractor. Now a monthly publication since January of this year, contractors, architects, design engineers and industry professionals enjoy the added benefit of reading our magazine's highly regarded features every month instead of on a bi-monthly basis.

Not only is MASONRY continuing to improve each and every month while helping to support the masonry industry. MASONRY, being the official publication of the Mason Contractors Assocation of America (a not-for-profit organization), it has maintained it's quality while keeping costs significantly lower for our members, our subscribers, and even our industry suppliers who advertise in our publication. That's a claim that our competitor, Masonry Construction Magazine (owned by investors), simply cannot make.

MASONRY Magazine and the Mason Contractors Association of America would like to take this time to ask each of our readers for your continued support. We'd like to encourage more mason contractors and industry professionals to become more active within the industry...here are a few ways to start: (1) continue the ongoing education of your employees by sending a subscription of MASONRY directly to their homes; (2) become a member of the MCAA and have a direct impact on workforce development, codes and standards development, legislative issues, contractor education and industry promotion; and (3) attend the MCAA's annual Masonry Showcase next February in Phoenix and meet with industry manufacturers, dealers and suppliers, network with fellow mason contractors, and gain knowledge and savings on products and services.

If you would like information on becoming a member of the MCAA, attending the 2002 Masonry Showcase, and/or additional subscriptions to MASONRY Magazine, please contact the MCAA at (800) 536-2225.

Once again, we welcome the readership of the Masonry Institute of Iowa, King's Material, Inc. and Ideal Concrete. More importantly, we thank them for their support and look forward to years of building a stronger industry together.

Sincerely,
Debra J. Mitchell, Editor-in-Chief
