In 2003, Melton was proclaimed an Honorary Member in the Texas Society of Architects. Commenting on the award, John Nyfeler, TSA President, said, "He embodies that spirit of mutual support and cooperation that has founded the relationship between Acme Brick and the Texas Society of Architects for over 50 years."

Melton attended Louisiana State University, receiving his master's degree in Business Administration in 1967 and his Ph.D. in Finance in 1974.

Receives NTEA 'Editor's
Choice' Award
Rostra Precision Controls, Inc., was awarded the "Editor's Choice" award for the most innovative new product at the 2005 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Work Truck Show held in Indianapolis in March.

The company earned the recognition for RearSight™, its passive alert rear-camera monitor kit, which is built to rigorous design standards, specifically for straight trucks in Class 3-7 fleet applications and all other vehicles with reduced rear visibility.

This is the first year NTEA presented an Editor's Choice award.

Coronado Stone Hires Sales
Representative
Coronado Stone of Fontana, Calif., has named Barbara Headrick the Pacific Northwest Direct Sales Representative. Her territory will consist of the states of Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

Headrick comes to Coronado Stone most recently from the Masonry Institute of Washington, where she served as Executive Director.

Lafarge North America announced that it has completed the purchase of the ready mix assets of Dixie Building Materials, a privately owned business based in New Orleans.

"The addition of Dixie Building Material's ready mix assets will strengthen our ability to service our customers," said Rob McCurdy, Vice President, Louisiana Ready Mix. "The acquisition complements our existing ready mix operations in Louisiana."

a Phenomenal Success

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) held its first Online Equipment Auction from May 31 through June 3.

Contractors were able to bid on several new, name brand items for half the cost of retail including scaffolding, saws, grout troughs, mortar boards and much more. Bidding was fast and furious, but there could only be one winner for each of the great items. Many lots came down to the final seconds, making it an exciting auction for all involved.
