# Thompson Passes Away
Ronald "RW" Thompson, 68, of Blacksburg, died peacefully after a short diagnosis of Leukemia on Sept. 27, 2012. "I'm going home, I'm going home, no pain, no tears." He was born in Salem on Feb. 4, 1944, the first child to the late Warren W. Thompson and Nancy Parris Noble. Ronnie has been a resident of Blacksburg since 1996, where he built his home at Blacksburg Country Club. He loved his home and BCC. He built his own company 44 years ago, Thompson Masonry, which he owned and operated until his death. In addition to his legacy, RW was an avid Virginia Tech sports fan. He loved playing golf with his honey or "the gang" at BCC. He also loved snowmobiling, hockey and traveling, but mostly spending his time with family and friends. An awe-inspiring friend, Ronnie found greatness in everyone he met. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wives, Sandra Downs Thompson and Gloria Jean Thompson, and a grandson, Sean Thompson.

He is survived by his loving wife, "Honey I Love You" Sharon Keith Thompson; his precious baby girl, Lexie, four sons, Butch Thompson, Eric Crowder, Shane Thompson and his wife Angie, and Joey Jones and his wife Amber, two daughters, Cindy Milligan and her husband Woody, and Stacy Jones; a brother, Mike Thompson and his wife Barbara; two sisters, Kaye Simpson and her fiancé Floyd Critcher, and Judy Christley and her husband Danny, four granddaughters, Alyssa, Katie, Madelin and Molly, as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews.

# Perkins Eastman Hires Parmar as Associate Principal
Perkins Eastman has hired Sanjay M. Parmar AIA in the firm's Charlotte office as an associate principal. Parmar joins with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare facility and strategic planning. As a firm-wide resource in strategic planning, he will join Perkins Eastman's growing international healthcare practice.

His experience spans facility master planning and facility planning, comprising quantitative and qualitative studies, facility programming, cost models, and master plans for health systems and hospitals including Ascension Health System, Emory Health System, Mt. Sinai, Cleveland Clinic, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Shriners Children's Hospital.

Parmar joins the company from Freeman White, where he was the lead healthcare planner and consultant. He was previously with both Odell Associates and NBBJ.

# Husqvarna Hires Millican, Thornsburg
Husqvarna has hired Gene Millican and Dave Thornsburg to its team. Gene Millican is district sales manager for the eastern region - Alabama and Mississippi. He recently was the VP of business development for Neuro Media Group, a digital media and advertising company in Alabama. With more than 16 years of professional experience, Millican has a diverse background, from being a co-owner of a tavern to finance and sales.

Dave Thornsburg joins Husqvarna as the district sales manager for Alaska and Washington. For the last 19 years, Thornsburg was the district sales manager at Wausau Paper, leading producer of technical specialty papers and towel products for commercial use.
