Subaru Industrial Power Products has named Steve Hartung as director of strategic sourcing. Hartung has 18 years of experience in engine manufacturing and sales, and most recently has been responsible for Subaru's Minneapolis-St. Paul sales territory as a regional sales manager. In his new position, Hartung's primary focus is on strategic sourcing of American-made parts to be used in Subaru V-Twin engines assembled at the Fuji manufacturing plant located in Tokyo, Japan.

Robert Bosch Tool, Simpson Strong-Tie Form Strategic Alliance

Robert Bosch Tool Corp., a manufacturer of professional power tools and accessories, and Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc., a provider of concrete, masonry and anchor repair solutions, have signed an agreement to form a strategic alliance that will allow the companies to jointly pursue sales, marketing and product development opportunities in the concrete construction market.

The sales combination gives the companies' distribution partners and customers' access to the commercial and residential product portfolio. The strategic alliance will give distributors the opportunity to compete effectively and take market share from direct sellers.

The alliance seeks to bring to market a complete Bosch/Simpson Strong-Tie installation system, including adhesive and mechanical anchors, as well as demolition and rotary hammers and accessories, and to improve efficiency and productivity for customers. The new venture also will provide joint jobsite training to installers and will offer distribution partners a variety of sales and marketing benefits. IMAS
