In Memoriam: BJ Eatherton

Words: David Eatherton, BJ Eatherton, Norman EathertonBJ Eatherton, prior owner of Eatherton Masonry, Inc., of Denver and mother of David Eatherton, passed away on February 1st.

Long-time members of the Colorado masonry community will remember that Ms. Eatherton, along with her husband, Norman, owned and operated Eatherton Masonry from the time of their marriage in 1960 until Norman's death in 1976.

After Norman's death, Ms. Eatherton turned the masonry business over to her son, Dave, and his wife, Sheralyn. She then went on to run BJ's Lounge in Thornton from 1976 until 1990. Dave says that she was happiest when she was organizing charity events and helping others. Ms. Eatherton also loved to socialize, play pool, travel and do crossword puzzles. And, of course, she was an integral part of the lives of her kids and grandkids.

Memorial services for Ms. Eatherton were held February 4th at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Thornton. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Metro Denver in lieu of flowers: Hospice of Metro Denver, 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700, Denver, CO 80246.

MCAA sends its deepest condolences to the Eatherton family.
