MCAA (Mason Contractors Association of America) Board of Directors approved the sale of Masonry Showcase, MCAA’s annual tradeshow held as part of their convention to Hanley Wood, LLC. The agreement was signed on Friday, October 19, 2007 by MCAA and Hanley Wood, LLC.

Under the terms of the agreement, MCAA will hold its annual convention concurrently with the World of Masonry, beginning in January 22- 25, 2008 in Las Vegas. The World of Masonry is held each year during the World of Concrete.

The move will benefit the Masonry Industry by combining resources and making the World of Masonry, an integral part of World of Concrete, the Masonry industry’s premier event. World of Concrete is the commercial construction industry’s largest and most important annual International event for concrete and masonry professionals with over 90,000 industry professionals from more than 100 countries.

"Our entire organization is very excited about the opportunity to bring together the two masonry shows and make them one. Together, we can truly build exceptional value and benefit for attendees. The World of Masonry is the "must attend" masonry event of the year." said Jeff Buczkiewicz, MCAA Executive Director.

"We are very excited about the opportunity of joining forces with the leading Masonry Association," said Tom Cindric, Director of World of Masonry. "The Masonry industry has been asking for one event, and this collaboration now makes that request a reality."

In addition to their annual convention, MCAA will hold the Fastest Trowel on the Block Competition and International Masonry Skills Challenge during World of Masonry and will be an Educational Partner with the World of Masonry Seminar Program, and conduct specific educational courses like Masonry Foreman Development and Masonry Quality Institute (MQI).
