The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009.
The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® is the largest bricklaying competition in the world. In this event the best masons in the world compete in twenty, two-man teams, building a specified 26 foot, double wythe, masonry brick wall in just 60 minutes. The judging of the competition is based on a combination of quality craftsmanship and the amount of brick laid. This year masons from the USA, Canada, will compete for the “World’s Best Bricklayer” title. The 2008 Champion, Garrett Hood, from Monroe, North Carolina, is back to defend his title.

The event has $100,000 in cash and prizes given to the winners of the bricklaying competition. The Grand prize is a new 2009 Ford F-250 XLT Super Duty 4x4 Truck. Thousands of spectators will turn out to see these masons compete for the top prizes in competitive bricklaying.

You can see this competition live at the 2009 World of Concrete/World of Masonry, action starts 1:30 PM Central Time on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The competition begins with a preliminary event, the SPEC MIX TOUGHEST TENDER® contest, which is a competition to be the fastest laborer, setting up the work area. The main event, the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 National begins at 2:00 PM Central Time and lasts until about 4:00 PM Central Time. Both events will be webcast live FREE, worldwide, at www.specmixbricklayer500.com. A minimum broadband speed of 700 Kps and MediaPlayer is required to view webcast.

  • SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place (Highest qualified brick count)

  • SPEC MIX TOP CRAFTSMAN, (Most sellable wall over 500 brick)

  • SPEC MIX TOUGHEST TENDER, (Fastest set up time)
The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 takes place in the Mason’s Challenge Arena located in the Gold Lot (G50223HW) of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
