MCAA's Convention at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry is the industry's premier event.

MCAA's Convention at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry is the industry's premier event to gather the resources and information you need to stay competitive, find the latest news and information regarding the association and the masonry industry, network with other contractors across the country, increase profits and strengthen your operation. Make it a priority to attend and be part of the action!

MAC PAC Reception

Tuesday, February 2, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
The Venetian Hotel

In order to articulate and advance the mason contractors' agenda, MCAA members must be engaged in the issues and the MAC PAC (Mason Contractors Political Action Committee).

The main purpose of the MAC PAC is to help elect federal candidates to office - candidates who are pro-construction and who will give MCAA a fair hearing on industry views. Federal laws and regulations have a direct impact on you and your business. Because it is illegal for corporations or State Chapter PACs to directly contribute to federal candidates or to political parties, MAC PAC allows you the opportunity to have a national impact on federal elections.

Contributions raised at this event go exclusively to the MAC PAC. Funds will be used to support pro-masonry candidates in the next election cycle.

Opening Session Dinner

Tuesday, February 2, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
The Venetian Hotel
$170 MCAA Members, $185 Non-members

The MCAA will be host to a top political figure at this year's reception (to be named later). Attendees will be introduced to our special guest speaker and enjoy a wonderful dinner at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino. The guest speaker will give a short 5-10 minute summary of what we can expect on the political front in 2010. This small intimate setting is a great opportunity to get an inside look at the year ahead in politics.

MCAA President Tom Daniel will also give a brief state of the association presentation.

Fastest Trowel on the Block

Thursday, February 4, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Las Vegas Convention Center, Gold Lot, front of North Hall

The Fastest Trowel on the Block Competition presented by QUIKRETE, is a showcase of industry craftsmanship and a testament of both the speed and skill of our industry's workforce. Only those journeymen masons who have the skill, confidence and courage to face-off with the industry's best are invited to compete.

The competition pits 20 journeyman masons, accompanied by two tenders, against one another in a show of both speed and craftsmanship. Each contestant's goal is to complete as much of an 18-blocklong wall as possible, using 8"x8"x16" CMU and the provided mortar in a twenty-minute heat. Contestants must have a high degree of workmanship using normal masonry practices and hand tools.

Closing Reception

Thursday, February 4, 5:30 PM - 11:00 PM
The Venetian Hotel
$210 MCAA Members, $260 Non-members

The MCAA will say thank you and goodbye to current MCAA President Tom Daniel. During the dinner portion of the program a short tribute to the MCAA President will be presented.

Following dinner, attendees will be treated to LOVE, the magical Cirque du Soleil show that brings together the spirit and passion of The Beatles to create an intimate and powerful entertainment experience.

With LOVE, Cirque du Soleil celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles through their timeless, original recordings. Drawn from the poetry of the lyrics, the show explores the content of the songs as interpreted by innovative performances from a cast of 60 international artists. A youthful, raw energy is channeled through aerial performance, extreme sports and urban freestyle dance.

Make your plans to join us at this year’s MCAA Convention at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry. We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas!
