Barnes awarded C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award

Each year, the Mason Contractors Association of America presents the C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to an individual who has provided exemplary leadership in advancing the masonry industry. All of the individuals who have received this prestigious award have demonstrated a tireless dedication to our industry through years of volunteer support and hard work. They have helped to ensure that our industry remains vital for the nearly 500,000 people employed through masonry.

MCAA President Mackie Bounds presented the 2012 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to Robert V. "Buddie” Barnes, Jr. of Dee Brown, Inc. in Dallas, Texas during the MCAA Closing Banquet at the 2012 MCAA Convention in Las Vegas, Nev.

“The individual that we honor here today has served and been a leader in the masonry industry for several years.”

Robert V. “Buddie” Barnes, Jr. is the Chairman of the Board and CEO for Dee Brown, Inc. Mr. Barnes graduated from Texas A & M University — Commerce with a degree in Industrial Technology with majors in Architecture and Business Management. Mr. Barnes serves on numerous civic and trade Association boards and is very active in the community. Mr. Barnes has worked in the construction industry since 1964 and has been with the Dee Brown Companies since 1969.
