2023 MCAA CONVENTION AT THE WORLD OF CONCRETE/ WORLD OF MASONRY

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2023 MCAA Convention in Las Vegas during the World of Concrete/World of Masonry on January 15th -19th. We have some exciting events planned for this year, including the return of the South of 40 event that will be held at Topgolf.

MCAA Contractor Members receive convention show floor passes for free. Please use your NEW MCAA MEMBER NUMBER to receive this member benefit upon registration. As a reminder, while registering for the World of Concrete please remember to pre-register for the events you will be attending.

Please be advised: There is no onsite registration. You must register online before coming to the show to receive your printed badge onsite. Confirmation letters will contain a barcode to easily print out your badge once you arrive onsite.

SILICA TRAIN-THE-TRAINER (NEW + RENEWAL)

TUESDAY, JANUARY 17TH 1:00PM
OSHA announced the new silica rule in 2016, and the citations since the rule was implemented have focused on mason contractors. One of the key components of the rule is to have a competent person on each job site. This course will train someone on your staff to have the ability to train other competent people on your staff.

SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500®
 LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER, BRONZE LOT

The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® world championship event is celebrating the 21st Anniversary of the competition revered as the “Super Bowl of Masonry,” putting skilled masons to the test. The competition consists of 26 bricklayers and their tenders racing against a 60-minute clock to build a 26-foot-long double wythe brick wall. The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® showcases the industry’s skill, speed, and stamina.

The SPEC MIX TOUGHEST TENDER® Competition is a combination of speed and detail that requires each of the mason tenders of the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® to strategically lift, carry, and place the materials and tools needed to set up the bricklayer’s defined workstation.

The MCAA’s Annual Board Meeting aims to keep our industry informed and involved. The board will review all information pertaining to the MCAA detailing the next eight months. All are welcome to attend and will be provided meeting notes.

The MCAA will be hosting the contractor round table meeting, bringing mason contractors from around the country together. Contractors will share issues impacting their business and their solutions to assist other contractors with their company needs. MCAA'S MASONRY SKILLS CHALLENGE
WED, JAN 18TH 8:00AM 

The Masonry Skills Challenge consists of masonry apprentices in first, second, and third-year levels showcasing their training in masonry. The contest challenges winning apprentices from regional competitions held throughout the country to determine the top masonry apprentice at each level. This competition represents the industry’s finest young masons and represents future careers in masonry.

MCAA'S FASTEST TROWEL ON THE BLOCK
WED, JAN 18TH 10:20 AM | PRESENTED BY BEST BLOCK

The 2023 Fastest Trowel On The Block promotes workmanship, speed, and craftsmanship in the masonry industry and workforce. Journeyman masons, accompanied by their choice of tender, compete against one another in a high-speed, 20-minute challenge. Only journeymen masons who have the skill, confidence, and courage to face off with the industry's best are invited to compete. This year's FTOB is sponsored by BEST BLOCK.

The MCAA is looking for highly trained and qualified experts to judge our Masonry Skills Challenge and Fastest Trowel On The Block Competitions that will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in Las Vegas during MASONRY MADNESS® at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry.
