(Continued from page 5) The opportunity of learning the rudiments of skills required in leadership and the technical knowledge necessary for them to become foremen and eventually contractors. A text book published by Structural Clay Products Institute entitled Advanced Bricklaying was used.

The classes met once a week for two hours in the evening for fourteen weeks. The one qualification required of the students was that he be a journeyman union bricklayer. A nominal fee was charged which was returned if the student attended 80% of the sessions.

The course was so popular and successful that a second school has already been planned which will last for twenty sessions since the first class found that it was somewhat rushed in covering the entire material included in Advanced Bricklaying.

Bids solely from foreign sources requiring delivery and performance outside the United States, its possessions and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and bids solicited under other than formal advertising procedures need not be reported.

Among other provisions of the regulation is one which requires firms submitting bids to identify parent companies.
