This index is published as a convenience to the reader. Every care is taken to make it accurate but masonry assumes no responsibilities for errors or omissions.

A view from the operator's location shows the dry wall being positioned on a special unloading ram which projects out from the fifth floor. Precise control is required because the load must be placed to coincide with the rectangular ramp. The line is then slacked and the load uncouples itself and rolls down the slight incline into the building.

A Koehring 440 truck crane equipped with 180 feet of boom lifts 3,000 pounds of dry wall plaster boards to the top of what will be a $4.8 million, 238-unit condominium of 12 stories with a penthouse and shopping center in Miami, Fla. The 440 lifted 500,000 pounds of dry wall into the building.

The Koehring 440 is owned by Keener & Humphrey Enterprises of Miami and, along with three Koehring 335 cranes, is used primarily on apartment building work in the area. One of the problems intrinsic to the area is the off-ocean wind, but the cranes have been operated in winds of up to 48 mph.

Keener & Humphrey use the cranes 40% of the time for pouring concrete, with the remaining 60% consisting of material handling work.
