Meet MCAA's New...
REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT
Dino Maniago, who was recently elected MCAA vice president for Region) (Canada), is president of Acme Masonry Limited, one of the major mason contracting firms in British Columbia, with offices in Vancouver and Prince George.
Dino received his elementary and secondary school education in Trail, B.C. He served his apprenticeship in bricklaying in Trail and earned his tradesmanship as a fully qualified journeyman bricklayer in Edmonton, Alta., while playing junior hockey with the Edmonton Oil Kings. After working a number of years for various mason contractors in Spokane, Wash., and Vancouver, he established his own mason contracting firm in 1957. His other business interests include land development.
In industry affairs, he has served as:
* Director, treasurer and president of the British Columbia & Yukon Chapter, Canadian Masonry Contractors Association.
* Trustee, Masonry Advancement Fund of B.C. and the Joint Conference Board.
* Trustee, Bricklayers Pension Plan.
* Member. Local Advisory Committee/Apprenticeship.
* Past member, Construction Labour Relations Association of B.C.
* 1971 conference chairman, Canadian Masonry Contractors Association, and director-at-large and member of the Executive committee.
He currently is president of the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association.
Dino and his wife, Janet, have a son, Anthony, 13, and a daughter, Carla, 10. They reside in North Vancouver.
Dino's hobbies are in the sports field and include fishing. hockey and racquetball.
