Forklift Update
One of the most important material handling purchases for your company deserves an in depth look before buying.
OUGH TERRAIN Forklifts are one of the most important large equipment purchases a mason contractor makes. With the wide variety of models on the market, it can be hard to decide which lift is right for your job.
In order to make a difficult decision easier, Masonry has asked forklift manufactures to give a sampling of their models and their specs for you to compare.
Use the guide on the following page to help narrow the field. Keep in mind how heavy a load is, how far the boom will be extended during load transportation and maximum reach required.
Remember, manufacturers offer other features besides the ones listed. There are warranties and availabilities of parts to consider.
An important tool in selecting a forklift is seeing it in action. Most construction expositions, for example, Masonry Expo, have forklifts on display and are occasionally featured in a material handling event. While this does not replace a test drive, it is the next best thing.
