Holcim (US) introduces updated weatherAPP with global availability

Words: Filiberto RuizHolcim (US) Inc. (www.holcim.us) announced that an enhanced version of its weatherAPP is now available globally. The application, which was launched at last year's World of Concrete trade show, is designed to help construction professionals determine the quality of conditions for placing concrete. This global version of the App has updated features including a function that converts temperature scales and measurement systems while monitoring temperatures worldwide.

"We're excited to extend the weatherAPP to users around the world," said Filiberto Ruiz, deputy chief executive officer of Holcim (US). "Holcim is committed to providing customers with cutting-edge tools and services."

The free application offers a GPS location feature that provides a four-day forecast and the favorability conditions for placing concrete. The forecast utilizes weather conditions and evaporation rates with concrete data to provide users with quantifiable information that is easy to use anywhere. The application is now available globally and provides results in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. Additionally, the enhanced version allows the user to update the concrete temperature based on conditions. The update is designed to increase ease of use and provide more complete and timely access to this critical data.

The weatherAPP is supported by Android, Apple iOs, Windows 7 Mobile and certain BlackBerry devices through web browsers. Holcim experts will be available at this year's World of Concrete trade show, booth number N-1327, to review the application and brief users on basic features and updates. The Holcim (US) booth will also feature various case studies and information on Rainbow Masonry Mortar products, part of the Envirocore family of eco-efficient products.
