Religious Accommodation Webinar

Title VII of the federal Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion. Employers must reasonably accommodate applicants’ and employees’ religious beliefs and practices unless doing so would cause more than a minimal burden on the operations of the employer’s business. Many employers are unaware of the extent to which they may have to make reasonable adjustments to the work environment that will allow an employee to practice their religion. Religious accommodation issues often involve scheduling, dress and grooming policies, and leave.

In this webinar, we will discuss:
  • What is a religion under Title VII?
  • What are some common religious accommodations sought in the workplace?
  • How does an employer determine if a religious accommodation is an undue hardship?
  • What are the legal remedies available for denial of a religious accommodation?
