TRUCO whips cast iron
'toughy,' 60 feet down

The men of R. E. Daily Co., Detroit contractors, peered at the 1½" thick, cast iron gate valve retainer ring. It lay in a confined area at the bottom of the sewer, 60' below street level. Twelve equally spaced 14" holes had to be drilled so it could be fastened to existing studs in the gate valve. Each hole was accurately drilled in 5 min. with portable TRUCO Drilling Equipment. Set-up time per hole was 10 min. Only one TRUCO Diamond Bit was needed, and it was in extremely good shape when the job was finished.
