Buncher Cleveland Champion

Bryan Buncher of Local No. 5 is Cleveland's champion bricklayer apprentice for the second consecutive year. Bryan took top honors at the twelfth annual Cleveland Bricklayer apprentice contest, held daily from February 22 to March 2, at the Home & Flower Show at the Cleveland Public Auditorium. He earned an engraved trophy and $100 as first place prize in the Cleveland contest during the finals on February 27, and then went on to take second place in the statewide contest held March 2.

Indentured to the J. Friedrich Construction Company of Cleveland, Bryan, 21, has been in his apprenticeship since July 1966. According to the rules of the contest, any bricklayer apprentice can enter providing he is not advanced to journeyman by April 1. Bryan is a graduate of Parma High School and attended Cuyahoga Community College before entering the trade. He (Continued on page 27)
