commercially available fly ash aggregates. It reports on the compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, unit weight, creep, drying shrinkage, splitting tensile strength, and freeze-thaw resistance characteristics of concretes made with these aggregates.
Investigation shows the physical properties of the four aggregates are very similar to those obtained for other types of lightweight aggregates. The properties come within the ranges shown in the American Concrete Institute's Guide for Structural Lightweight Aggregate Concrete. The research is important to architects, engineers, and others in building construction.

distribution of cement. Mr. Poole joined Medusa as Vice President-Marketing in 1965 and was elected a Director in 1967.
Frank C. Stevens, who joined the company in 1968, remains in charge of manufacturing and engineering as Vice President of Operations-Cement Division.
B. G. Neavill was elected to the new post of Vice President of Administration-Cement Division. Mr. Neavill's responsibilities will include customer and credit relations, and salaried employee relations. Since joining Medusa in 1957 he has served in several financial positions, most recently as Secretary-Treasurer.
William M. Troutman was elected to the newly created position of Director of Corporate Development and Secretary, reporting to Mr. Fort. Mr. Troutman will be responsible for community and public relations and manpower development, and will assist Mr. Fort in long range planning, and with acquisitions, Mr. Troutman joined the company in 1965 and for the past two years has been Director of Industrial Relations.
Walter J. Spear, presently Controller, has been given the additional duties of Treasurer and will report to the President. Mr. Spear joined the Accounting Department in 1961 and was named Controller in 1968.
