Successful CMCA Estimating Course
The estimating seminar sponsored by the Colorado Mason Contractors Association in Denver was reportedly every bit as successful as anticipated. Eighty-four students, mainly mason contractors and their estimators, attended the two-day course for which Jerry Pope served as instructor. Pope is presently manager of special construction projects for Hensel Phelps Construction Co. and has been responsible for estimating more than $1 billion worth of construction during the past 13 years. Pope also authored the new manual, "Masonry Estimating... For a Profit," which was used as the text for the course. The manual has been published in loose-leaf binder form by the CMCA, so as to allow for adding supplemental information, and is being sold nationally at $50 per copy. For a copy, send your check to the Colorado Mason Contractors Association, 3003 E. 3rd Ave., Suite 104, Denver, Colo. 80206.
