The Pacific First Federal Savings Building is located in the core area of Vancouver, Washington, and was designed by Architects Nelson, Walla & Dolle' to create an openness in relation to the surrounding property by the use of a diagonal lot placement.
White clay adobe face brick. 4 x 4 x 16 were selected because of their inherent beauty in color, texture and scale. By using a brown tinted mortar the contrast proved of interest and accented the other facing facades.
This building completed in 1975 was selected by the Chamber of Commerce of Vancouver as one of the outstanding buildings erected during the year. The buildings and projects were judged on visual impact, imagination, tangible function, architecture and landscaping. A medallion was presented to the firm at the annual awards luncheon held by the Chamber.
