Spokane MCA Aids Public TV Station
The Mason Contractors Association of Spokane, Wash., again demonstrated its support for public television in that city. Station KSPS-TV (Channel 7) is $865 richer thanks to the proceeds from an auction sale of a barbecue unit donated by the Spokane group and purchased by Jan Hutchinson of Deer Park, Wash. Posing for the photographer with their finished product are (from left) John Brasch, Bill Schoultz, Ms. Hutchinson and Les Albert. Equipment and labor assistance to build the unit were provided by Ken Spilker. All the materials were donated by associate members of the Spokane Chapter.

AFL-CIO Warns Against Hucksters During Union's 100th Anniversary
During 1981 American unions will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the AFL-CIO. There is reason to believe that some unscrupulous and unethical promoters will exploit this event for their personal gain through the sale of advertising or merchandise.

The national AFL-CIO says it does not accept or solicit advertising for its own publications, and that no one is authorized to solicit advertising, sell merchandise, tickets or donations of any type in the name of the AFL-CIO.

The AFL-CIO commemoration will not include any type of 100th anniversary program, "special edition" newspapers, anniversary directory, or any other type of publication which contains advertising.

"The AFL-CIO will proceed with appropriate legal action against any individual or organization which engages in such activities in the name of the AFL-CIO," said Lee White, AFL-CIO centennial coordinator. "We encourage anyone approached to purchase suspect advertising to immediately contact the Better Business Bureau and local law enforcement officials."

Fly now, pay later
A woman was extremely nervous about going on her first airplane flight. An airline reservationist was working at reassuring her. "Look at it this way," he said. "If it weren't safe, would we let you use a credit card?"

Slipshod
It's reported that Bob Hope was golfing one day when his shirt tail popped out from his trousers, whereupon another golfer yelled, "Hey, Hope your slip is showing." Hope stopped his game long enough to call back, "Your father's slip is showing."
