The fact that the firm took two awards in the blind judging speaks highly of its design abilities and understanding of concrete masonry.

Block for the Troop Operational Training Facility was supplied by Orco Block Co. of Riverside, California. Soltec of San Diego was the general contractor on the project.

The Troop Operational Training Facility is used to teach amphibious landing techniques to U.S. Marine personnel.

Mr. Keith Hendrick, President of Noranda Minerals Inc., and who is also a director of the Ontario Art Gallery, introduced Chris Temple, Artist of the painting "THE REDEMPTION," which was unveiled and presented to the architects of the selected project.

Mr. Steve Irwin Architect accepted the award on behalf of the Associated Architects Shore Tilby Henschel Irwin Peters and Mathers and Haldenby for the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto Police Headquarters building at College and Bay St.
