Grace Construction Products Marks Dry-Block Milestones
In conjunction with the 25th anniversary of its DRY-BLOCK System, Grace Construction Products is recognizing those companies that have achieved the greatest longevity in its Qualified DRY-BLOCK Producer Program. Twelve companies, from Maine to Arizona, that have participated in the program for 20 years or more will be presented with a plaque honoring this milestone.

Crumb Colton Block of Rockford, III., which became a Qualified DRY-BLOCK Producer in 1983, holds the honors for the longest uninterrupted participation in the Qualified DRY-BLOCK Producer Program. In addition, 11 companies became Qualified DRY-BLOCK Producers in 1984, and are proudly celebrating their 20 anniversary this year. They are: 4-D of Midland, Mich.; A. Duchini, Inc. of Erie, Pa.; Arthur Whitcomb of Keene, N. H.; Barnes & Cone, Inc. of Syracuse, N.Y.; Domine Builders Supply of Rochester, N.Y.; Elks Concrete Products of Lafayette, La.; Genest Concrete Works, Inc. of Sanford, Maine; Griswold and Company of Williston, Vt.; Michigan Certified Concrete Products, Inc., of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Superlite Block of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Tri County Block & Brick of Swanton, Ohio.

Simpson Closes $35 Million Acquisition
Simpson Strong-Tie Co. Inc. announced on October 15th the completion of its $35 million acquisition of the assets of Quik Drive USA Inc, and its related companies.

Simpson, a subsidiary of Dublin-based Simpson Manufacturing Co. Inc., spent $30 million in cash and $5 million in stock for the Gallatin, Tenn.-based fastener manufacturer. The deal had been in the works since July.

Simpson Strong-Tie manufactures wood-to-wood, wood-to-concrete and wood-to-masonry connectors and pre-fabricated shearwalls.

Arnco Names Director of Business Development
Arnco, supplier of polyurethane fill for tires on off-road vehicles, has expanded its sales and marketing capabilities by appointing Joe Campo to the new position of Director, Business Development.

Campo joins Arnco after serving more than 27 years with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, most recently as Sales Manager North America for Off-the-Road Tires. He spent 15 years with the company's Chemical Products Division and the last 12 years in the North America Tires Division, holding various sales, marketing and management positions, including Manager of Dealer Sales and Business Development Manager for all tire products.

PROSOCO Recognized for 'Excellence in Commerce'
PROSOCO, a manufacturer of products for cleaning, protecting and maintaining concrete, brick and stone, received the Lawrence (Kan.) Chamber of Commerce's 2004 "Excellence in Commerce" award on October 15%.

The company has had its national headquarters in Lawrence since 1999.

A panel of judges made up of the contest sponsors and the 2003 award recipients chose PROSOCO from a group of 15 manufacturing nominees.
