Judges' Comments: The overall design and scale of this project alone warranted an award. Judges were impressed by the design, complexity and masonry detailing that helped to break up such a large-scale project.

2nd Place:
Woodberry Forest School - Terry House, Woodberry Forest, Va.

Mason Contractor: M3, Inc.
Architect: Bartzen and Ball, PLLC

Judges' Comments: Second place was awarded for the traditional use of masonry to blend the project in with surrounding structures, giving the feeling it has always been there.

Architect: William Rawn Associates

Judges' Comments: This project pushes the edge of design and uses masonry to achieve it. The use of masonry is unique and creates a prime example of how masonry can add to the overall design of a project.

2nd Place:
Trinity Women's and Girl's Athletic Facility, Washington, D.C.

Mason Contractor: Spartan Masonry Group, Inc.
Architect: Hughes Group Architects

Judges' Comments: The judges felt the use of brick detailing on this project added to the overall design and is yet another example of how superb masonry craftsmanship can create a project of excellence.
