The "M" Honor Award

THE KENTUCKIANA MASONRY
INSTITUTE'S ANNUAL
ARCHITECTURAL AWARDS

The Kentuckiana Masonry Institute's Annual Architectural Awards luncheon was held April 15" at The Red Mile racetrack in Lexington, Ky. The program was developed to recognize excellence in architectural design. Awards were presented to the architect(s), mason contractor, structural engineer and owner of the winning projects in each of the seven categories.

The jury consisted of James O. Hastings Jr., Hastings Architecture Associates, LLC; Kevin Hudson, Everton Oglesby Architects, PLLC; and Manuel Zeitlin, Manuel Zeitlin Architects, all of Nashville.

Also, David Biagi, Dean of the University of Kentucky School of Architecture, was present to award scholarships to finalists in the KMI/UK College of Design Annual Masonry Design Competition & Scholarship Program. The students were asked to develop six masonry site elements for the "backyard" of the Home of the Innocents, a long-term residential home for children, ages infant to 18, who have been abused, abandoned or neglected, and a pediatric care center for medically fragile and terminally ill children.

Winners of the scholarships are Maria Milkova, Michael Gillette, Michael Hogan, Tim Barnett, John Testa, Mitchell Kersting, Neal Esser, Katie Prince, Lindsey Fister, Daniel Thomberry, James Davis, Rudy Renfrow and Seth Twardy.
