In October, 28 apprentices from 12 companies competed in the 53rd Annual North Carolina Department of Labor State Fair Masonry Apprentice Contest in Raleigh, N.C. The new champion is 18-year-old Marcus Guy Hefner, an apprentice with McGee Brothers Company of Monroe, N.C.
