The 2009 MCAA Legislative Conference was a huge success. With a total of about 15 members in attendance, attendees managed to attend over 40 appointments with our lawmakers and staff within a 15 hour time frame. Attendees were moving at a very fast pace through the 15 hour period and were making our presence known on Capitol Hill. Issues addressed and discussed included:

One goal of the conference was to reach out to blue dog democrats this year and find additional co-sponsors for bills related to our issues. Attendees received numerous commitments during their appointments.

The legislative committee is preparing for a very busy year ahead given the fast paced approach the new administration has taken on many issues. Our businesses involvement in the political process has never been as important as it is today.
